Kidsfest Canada Running and Reading Club
Coca-Cola Ltd. sponsored this program in 2006 and had committed to continue the sponsorship in 2007. This is a 2-hour after- school activity for children living below the poverty line. The first part works on the fitness needed to complete a year-end 5km run and the latter part develops their reading skills.
Hoops All-Stars Camp
In 2006 and 2007, Coca-Cola Ltd. provided sponsorship dollars and product for the Hoops All-Stars Camp. Funds from this organization are used for running free camps for "urban" youth and for providing subsidies to low income homes for children to attend fee based camps. Last year 12 camps were set up throughout the GTA 4 of which were completely free of charge. In 2006, 500 boys and girls between the ages of 7-13 were able to participate in camps to which they would otherwise not have had access.
